The Dive Shop's Rescue Diver Course starts after you register for class and receive your PADI Rescue Diver course materials. After reading the manual and watching the Rescue Diver DVD you'll be ready to come to class where we will dive deeper into your course materials, begin learning practical application of emergency equipment, discuss the coming in-water training, and complete a short exam.
Once your classroom session is over we will schedule an afternoon in one of our pools where we can work on the required skills needed to become a PADI Rescue Diver. Plan on spending a few hours working on tired diver tows, in-water rescue procedures, assisting distressed divers, and all the basic skills you learned in your Open Water & Advanced Open Water courses.
The final step on the path to certification is a day or two in Open Water, usually at Lake Phoenix. You instructor will walk your class through several simulated emergency senarios. It will be your job to use the available equipment, people, and knowledge to conduct a successful rescue.
The Rescue Diver certification course is all about rising to challenges and mastering them! Most divers find it to be both demanding and rewarding. By the end of your last senario at Lake Rawlings we always hear, "This is one of the best scuba courses I've ever taken!"
